For more than two decades, John’s practice has focused on the litigation of construction defect and product liability disputes. His clients include construction developers, general contractors, subcontractors, and building products manufacturers. He is also experienced in litigating a wide variety of other matters including tort and contract claims, insurance coverage, serious injury and wrongful death, copyright infringement, professional liability, and municipal and school district liability.
John is rated AV by Martindale Hubbell, the highest ranking given to attorneys. He is admitted to practice in all State and Federal Courts in Washington and Oregon, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. John is an active member of the Defense Research Institute and the American Bar Association, and several of their committees that keep themselves and other members informed about the latest developments in the law, litigation techniques, and legal technology.
John received his mediator training at the top-ranked Straus Institute at Pepperdine University. He has been an arbitrator many times during his career, and serves as a judge in the annual ABA Arbitration Competition finals. Prior to becoming a lawyer, John was a property and casualty insurance underwriter.
